Murder suspect fails to appear in court

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are still looking for a man charged with killing his girlfriend.
A warrant was issued Tuesday for the arrest of 58-year-old Edward C. Anderson after he failed to appear in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for arraignment on a charge of murder.
A county grand jury indicted Anderson, of East Philadelphia Avenue, two weeks ago in the July 15 death of Mary M. Thompson, 37, who reportedly lived with Anderson at the South Side address.
A spokeswoman at the county jail said Anderson posted a $100,000 bond and was released from jail July 20. The bond had been set by Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly of Youngstown Municipal Court. Jail records do not indicate whether Anderson paid the bond himself or someone else paid it for him.
