Man is jailed on rape and assault charges

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. -- Police said a Sharon man was jailed on rape and other charges after an assault on a Sharpsville woman in an apartment on East Shenango Street.
Davon Leak, 28, who gave police a Second Avenue, Sharon, address, went to the victim's house and assaulted her in a bedroom around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The two are acquainted, police said.
The 27-year-old victim told police she yelled for her children to call their grandmother, and Police Chief Keith Felasco said 911 got a call about a domestic dispute in progress at the East Shenango Street apartment.
The victim told police that Leak had a knife and held her against her will and raped her. He also covered her face with a pillow in an attempt to silence her, she said.
The woman was treated at Sharon Regional Health System and Leak was arrested on charges of rape, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, indecent assault, unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.
He remains in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, police said.
Leak was also under house arrest on a DUI charge at the time of the attack, police said.
