YOUNGSTOWN -- A Lakeya Perry, 15, was in critical condition this morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center with a bullet wound of the abdomen. Witnesses told city police that about 11:55 p.m. Sunday, someone among a group of male and female teenagers fired three rounds from the street into 3719 Erie St. and then fled. One round went through the living room window, police said. That shot was likely the one that hit the girl, who was sitting on the couch with her brother, police said. The teenagers were known to the victim's family.
Coroner investigatesBoardman man's death
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Coroner is investigating the death of Lewis Pettorelli, 48, of 925 Mathews Road, Boardman, after a one-car crash on Glenwood Avenue.
City police said Pettorelli was southbound on Glenwood early Sunday when his car crossed into the other lane near Mistletoe, went onto the curb and went off the southeast corner. The car traveled 271 feet before making a low-impact crash into a telephone pole, police said.
Bar break-in, robbery
YOUNGSTOWN -- Owners of The Partners Jazz Lounge at 732 Oakhill Ave. reported that someone broke into the bar and ransacked it between 3 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Sunday and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, city police said.
Pretrial hearing in crash
CAMPBELL -- Michael Mitulinski, 21, of Tenney Avenue, will appear in municipal court Nov. 9 for a pretrial hearing on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to control the vehicle he was driving. Police say he had crashed his car into a pole along Wilson Avenue on July 26.
Shots fired at house
YOUNGSTOWN -- Shots were fired into a residence in the 2900 block of Dearborn about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, city police said. The woman who owns the home told police she heard five to six shots. Police found three holes in the house's siding. A man at the house said a shot went into the headboard of the bed in which he was lying.
3 vandalism arrests
YOUNGSTOWN -- City police arrested three teenagers on charges of vandalism Saturday evening at Youngstown Christian School, 4401 Southern Blvd. Police charged a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old from Youngstown and a 14-year-old from California with vandalism for breaking several windows at the school about 7:15 p.m.
Official's court date
CAMPBELL -- Robert T. Dolan, president of the Campbell Board of Education, who is charged with driving under the influence and passing left of center, will appear in municipal court here Sept. 14 for continuation of his pretrial hearing.
Dolan was arrested May 1. Police said Dolan's blood alcohol was measured at 0.224. Ohio's blood-alcohol limit for motorists is 0.08.
