XAmerican-Hungarian Federation will sponsor its 78th annual Hungarian Festival Day (Magyar Nap) Sunday at the Youngstown Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave. Events will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 7. The event will feature music and ethnic foods. A donation of $2 will be taken at the admission gate, and there also will be drawings and door prizes.
FUND-RAISERS
XThe American Cancer Society is seeking teams for its 21st annual Columbiana County Men's Golf Tournament to be played Aug. 23 at Salem Hills Golf and Country Club, 12688 Salem-Warren Road. The original date for the tournament was June 21. Registration and a light lunch at 11:30 a.m. will precede a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Awards and a steak dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. Golf carts and beverages will be available on the course. MEMBERSHIP DRIVES
XFriends of the Boardman Library will hold a membership drive from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 7, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 4 at the library, Glenwood Avenue, Boardman. The group also is accepting donations of gently used books, especially children's books, and magazines. They may be dropped off at the library from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

XA charity rummage sale to benefit the new Alzheimer's Assistance and Referral Network will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield. For information call the network office at (330) 788-9755.
XBethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will hold a "No Trash, Just Treasure" sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. A dollar-per-bag sale will begin at 11.
XEaster Seals will sponsor a garage sale extravaganza from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at the Ridgeview Plaza, Route 422, Warren. New and used items, collectibles and antiques will be available along with furniture, Christmas items and lawn and garden equipment. Donations are being accepted; call Pam and Jim Pierce at (330) 369-1324. Volunteers also are needed to prepare for the event and work at the sale; contact Jodi Harmon or Barb DeRose at Easter Seals, (330) 743-1168. Proceeds from the event will benefit Easter Seals programs and services in the community.
XGuilford Lake Area Ruritan and Salem Area Browns Backers will sponsor a flea market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at Guilford Lake Hall, Hanna Drive at state Route 172. For information on table or booth space, call (330) 337-0492 or (330) 222-0311 after 3 p.m. Entertainment and an all-you-can-eat pig roast will begin at 1 p.m. Meals will include pork and chicken, corn, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Tickets for the roast and entertainment are $10 for adults and $5 for children 3 to 10. Those under 3 are free.
XThe Kinsman garage and yard sale that was postponed due to bad weather has been rescheduled for Aug. 14 beginning at 9 a.m. For information call Kinsman Rexall at (330) 876-5611.
XLake Milton Presbyterian Church, 942 Grandview Road, is sponsoring a Fall Farmer's Market from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday between Sept. 11 and Oct. 16. XLiberty Presbyterian Church, corner of Route 304 and Logan Avenue. is sponsoring a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Household items, toys, games, Christmas decorations, books and furniture will be available.
XQueen of Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with a bag sale from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be refreshments and a bake sale.
XSebring Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a community-wide garage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Sale sites will be marked with yellow flowers. For additional information visit 206 W. Vermont Ave., Sebring, on sale days.
XWest Middlesex United Methodist Church, Main Street, West Middlesex, Pa., will hold a flea and farmer's market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 12 and 19.
XYellow Creek Presbyterian Church, 17365 state Route 45, near Wellsville, will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There also will be a car wash, bake sale, face painting and lunch.
TRIPS
XFriends House Chapel will sponsor a trip by motor coach Aug. 28 to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. The bus will leave the church at 192 Haseltine Ave., Youngstown, at 6 a.m. that morning. Departure from Cincinnati for the return trip will be at 7 p.m. that evening. Refreshments will be served, and the cost is $56 for adults and $53 for children 6-12. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 20.
