Jim Morrison's leather pants, Buddy Holly's signature eyeglasses and Elvis Presley's Gibson Super 400 electric guitar will be among the unusual treasures in the new Hard Rock Vault in Orlando, Fla.
Elvis, in fact, will have his own "King's Chamber" with memorabilia from his early years until the end of his life.
The Vault, which will have a grand opening Thursday, is an "all-access look at the energy, originality and passion of music, artists, events and audiences ... ," according to Pete Beaudrault, president of Hard Rock Cafe International.
There'll be no glass cases in the 17,000-square-foot interactive attraction, spokeswoman Cara Chiarelli said. "It's a total immersion tour."
Museum exhibit showsmore uses for hotels
Hotels can be a fantasy world, a theme park for visitors who want to experience new surroundings.
An exhibition at the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City combines architecture, interior design, photography, film and works of art to show how varied and dynamic hotels can be.
"New Hotels for Global Nomads" will continue through March 2.
Encompassing two floors of the museum, the exhibit highlights more than 35 real and conceptual examples of modern hotels and their services, as well as materials on historic hotels. It's organized in five themes: Urban Hotels, Hotels as Global Business, Hotels on the Move, Natural Hotels and Fantasy Hotels.

Zagat joins ESPNto offer golfer's guide
For 24 years, Zagat Survey has reported on the shared experiences of travelers and diners. More recently, it has expanded its scope to include nightlife, shopping and movies. Now it has teamed up with ESPN to produce the ultimate golfer's guide, covering 1,049 public, semiprivate and resort courses in the United States, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Of the 5,311 reviewers for the Zagat Survey 2003 America's Top Golf Courses, 86 percent are men, playing an average of 7.7 rounds of golf per month at an average cost of play of $100.86 per round.
The Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine was singled out as the best in the Southwest and as one of the top-rated newcomers. The Four Seasons at Las Colinas is among the Top 10 of top facilities.

US Airways to add2 routes to Ireland
US Airways plans to start flying nonstop between Philadelphia and Dublin, and between Philadelphia and Shannon, next summer, offering daily service on both routes from May through October. The airline said it had applied to the Department of Transportation for approval to serve those routes. The airline said it hoped the seasonal service could be expanded to year-round service. The routes will be served by Boeing 767 jets that carry 199 passengers, all but 23 in coach class.
Nonstops to St. Kitts
US Airways recently started new nonstops between Philadelphia and the Caribbean island of St. Kitts each Saturday.
