Police seeking driver who got away

Published: Thu, February 20, 2003 @ 12:00 a.m.

AUSTINTOWN -- Police continue their search for a man who led them on a chase through the township and into Youngstown.

Reports state that police began following a red Pontiac at about 2 a.m. Saturday after it pulled out of a gas station and onto Meridian Road. The police checked the car's registration and found that the owner had a suspended license.

The car was pulled over at the corner of Oakwood and Bon Air avenues in Youngstown.

As police approached the driver's side and tapped on the car window, the car then drove off. Police were not able to catch it.
