Coaches: Ed DiGregorio is 318-234 in his 20th season. Duffy Burns is 98-119 in eight seasons with the Vikings.
YSU starters: Maggie Johnston, 5-foot-5 senior guard (9.9 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game); Jessica Olmstead, 5-9 sophomore guard (9.9, 5.3); Jen Perugini, 6-2 sophomore center (12, 7.4); Devin Novak, 5-10 junior forward (11.4, 2); Jessica Forsythe, 5-11 junior forward (8.4, 6.3).
Cleveland State starters: Erika Roudebush, 5-8 senior guard (17.1, 3.3); Erin Martin, 5-9 freshman guard (5, 1.9); Karyn Woloszynek, 6-3 junior center (5.9, 5.3); Ashley Schrock, 5-11, junior forward (12.2, 8); Shannon Sword, 6-0 junior forward (9.9, 5.4).
Game notes: The Penguins have struggled of late, losing four of their last five games. They dropped their last contest at Loyola 73-62 on Saturday and are fighting to stay out of the cellar in the Horizon League. Cleveland State has also lost four of its last five games including an 88-81 loss at UW-Milwaukee last Saturday. The Vikings only win in the last five games was against Butler 75-66 at Cleveland. Martin of Canfield will be making her third straight start for the Vikings. She is averaging 5 points a game and has played in every game this season.
Series: This will be the 38th meeting between the two teams with YSU holding a 26-11 advantage. The Vikings routed the Penguins in their first meeting this season in Cleveland, 81-44. The two teams split a year ago each winning at home. The Vikings won in Cleveland 80-71, while the Penguins won at Beeghly 82-74.
