Death of infant ruled homicide

Published: Fri, February 14, 2003 @ 12:00 a.m.

EAST PALESTINE -- The death of a 5-month-old girl in August has been ruled a homicide, authorities said today.

The Summit County Coroner's Office, which was asked to do the autopsy on Brooklyn Robinson, determined this week that she died of blunt force trauma, said Tim McNicol, assistant Columbiana County prosecutor.

Brooklyn was the daughter of Jennifer Robey, 19, of 1204 Bacon Ave., and Ernest Robinson, 20, of the same address.

The parents brought their daughter to the police station Aug. 14. She was taken from there to Salem Community Hospital.

No information was available this morning regarding when Brooklyn died. No arrest has been made.

McNicol said a joint investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor's office, East Palestine police and the county department of job and family services.
