NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Families are invited to attend the free Mardi Gras to be held by the Student Alumni Association and Campus Programming Committee from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Orr Lobby at Westminster College.
There will be free mask decorating with prizes for various age groups. The event will include face art, a magician, carnival booth games, bean bag toss, sand art, plinko and other games. Free beaded necklaces will be distributed by Jon Liberty and Sandra Edmiston, the evening's king and queen.
After the Mardi Gras, December Sun will be the opening act for a performance by the carnival band Allister in the auditorium.
Irish dancers bookedfor Cleveland museum
CLEVELAND -- Fifteen students from Burke School of Irish Dance will perform at 2 p.m. next Sunday in the North Lobby at Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd.
The program of traditional Irish dances is part of the museum's Family Arts and Cultural Enrichment Series. Admission is free.
Students of Burke School of Irish Dance, which was founded by Theresa Burke, have won awards at regional, national and world dance competitions. Burke operates schools in Cleveland, Youngstown and Pittsburgh.

Dreambuilder movie premieres Feb. 28
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Skin Complex," the winner of this year's Dreambuilder Scribe Award Contest, sponsored by Procter & amp; Gamble, will have its premiere Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. on Fox 17/62 and at 8 on WKBN-TV Channel 27.
Wolfgang Bodison, who performed in "A Few Good Men," stars as a man who has already achieved success that most would envy. However, he wants more from life, but believes there are obstacles blocking his path. The dramatic step he is considering could help him achieve his dreams -- or cause him to lose everything.
Rocking eveningplanned for charity
SALEM -- Lisbon Inn Relay for Life Team will sponsor a "Rockin' for a Cure" evening of entertainment March 15 at Salem Little Quakers Hall, 1688 S. Lincoln Ave.
The fund-raiser will include a buffet style dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m., a bachelor and bachelorette auction from 7:30 to 9 p.m., and classic rock music by the Hern Brothers Band from 9:30 to 1 a.m.

Film composers to compete for honor
The fourth annual Young Film Composers Competition, sponsored by Turner Classic Movies, will provide young composers an opportunity to compete for the privilege of scoring a silent film from the TCM library.
Competitors can score one of four silent movie clips and submit the original previously unrecorded and unreleased original music composition as the clip's score.
A panel of blue-ribbon judges, including Oscar-winning composer Elmer Bernstein, will choose the grand prize winner who will get a trip to Los Angeles, $10,000 in cash and a chance to record their score for a silent film to be shown on the TCM network.
