Man pleads guilty in crash death

LISBON -- Sentencing is set for April 4 for an East Liverpool man who pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
Justin Moisey, 22, of Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, pleaded guilty recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.
The plea was part of a deal worked out with prosecutors that allowed him to admit to a third-degree felony version of aggravated vehicular homicide instead of the second-degree version with which he originally was charged.
The second-degree version carries a maximum penalty of eight years in prison. The third-degree version bears a maximum of five years.
Mosiey faces a maximum of 18 months for the vehicular assault charge, a fourth-degree felony.
A prosecutor's office spokesperson was unavailable to provide more details on the plea deal.
Moisey was charged in connection with a June 12 crash in which he was driving a car and lost control of it. The vehicle struck a ditch and overturned.
Moisey had been drinking alcohol and operating the car recklessly just before the crash, authorities said.
The wreck resulted in the death of Jesse Fisher, 23, of East Liverpool, one of Moisey's passengers.
Injured was passenger Michael Reese, 20, of East Liverpool, which resulted in the vehicular assault charge.
