A scholarship will be named after Pegues, who was the first black superintendent in Youngstown and Warren school districts, and he will receive a proclamation from the city.

Students will make presentations, recite poetry, and dance to honor Youngstown black educators.

Also at the event, the alliance will honor Youngstown area school children and presents scholarship awards.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Call Ralph Goldston at (330) 792-3280 or Marcia Haire-Ellis at (330) 270-0420.
