Published: Fri, April 25, 2003 @ 12:00 a.m.

Maple Leafs 2, Flyers 1, 2 OT

TORONTO -- Travis Green scored 10 minutes, 51 seconds into the second overtime as Toronto beat Philadelphia to force a decisive Game 7 in the first-round series. The teams have played seven overtime periods during the first six games but will have to recover quickly because Game 7 is tonight in Philadelphia. Not since the 1950 Stanley Cup finals have Games 6 and 7 of a series been played on consecutive nights. All three games played in Toronto this series were decided in overtime. Jeremy Roenick scored for the Flyers, who have lost in the first round four of the past five years. Philadelphia's Roman Cechmanek made 34 saves including a penalty-shot stop on Robert Reichel, and Ed Belfour stopped 35 shots for Toronto. Reichel gave the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Wild 3, Avalanche 2, OT

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Richard Park scored his second goal of the game 4:22 into overtime to lift Minnesota over Colorado and force Game 7. The Wild, in the playoffs for the first time in their three-year history, have won two straight while on the brink of elimination. The teams will play tonight in Denver, with the winner moving on to the second round to face either St. Louis or Vancouver. Marian Gaborik also scored for Minnesota. After trailing 2-0 late in the third period, the Avalanche tied it on goals by Joe Sakic and Greg de Vries in the final 3 1/2 minutes. But they didn't even get a shot off in the extra period and will play a Game 7 for their fifth straight series. Patrick Roy, who stopped 66 of 69 shots during Games 2-4, gave up three goals for the second straight game. He made 20 saves. Roy has played 57 overtime games in the postseason and his record in those contests fell to 40-17.
