XYoungstown Chapter of the United Nations Association will meet Thursday at the YWCA in Youngstown. XYoungtown Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the branch office, 3110 Market St., Youngstown. A nominating committee will be elected. The committee will report at the general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the office.

XOhio Cultural Alliance will hold a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. Nicholas Activity Center, 3801 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. The speaker will be the Rev. Ashwin Kumar Welch, who has served as a missionary in India and is co-pastor of Boardman United Methodist Church. Cultural enrichment will be presented by Dr. Julie Thomas, a Youngstown State University professor of psychology and native of India, who will perform an Indian dance. XD.A.R.E., a social group for divorced, widowed and separated people, will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday for a dance at the Avalon Inn and Resort, Howland, sponsored by Single For Any Reason. A walk is planned Tuesday at the hike-bike trail at Mill Creek Park, Youngstown, and participants should meet at 6:30 p.m. at Dr. Shah's.
