XSt. Benedict's Auxiliary of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church will sponsor its 10th annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at the school auditorium, East Market and Belvedere, N.E., Warren. XGreater Youngstown Point will hold an auction and sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmont Ave., as a benefit for the homeless.
XChrist Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, will hold a pumpkin fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The outdoor market will feature pumpkins, apples, cider, mums, home-baked goods, jellies and candies, and there will be a petting zoo, games a flea market and Chinese auction. Light refreshments will be available all day at the Solid Rock Cafe and an open pit chicken dinner will be served from noon to 6 p.m. Dinners are $7.
XSt. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will be the site of the St. Joseph Society's second annual Octoberfest and St. Joseph the Provider School Home and School Association's craft show from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. XGirard Historical Society is taking orders for a variety of bulbs to be planted now for spring blooming. Bulbs can be ordered at $5 per package by calling Jane Harris at (330) 545-3893 from now through Oct. 15. Available are nine daffodil bulbs, eight tulip bulbs, 18 bluebells, three tiger lilies, 18 Dutch iris, as well as other varieties. Profits will go to the renovation of the Barnhisel House.
XMahoning Valley American Cancer Society will kick off breast cancer awareness month with a Pink Ribbon Gala Sept. 28 at Tippecanoe Country Club, Canfield. Featured will be hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 followed by a silent auction and music. Tickets are $125 each or $1,000 for table of eight. XSts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 185 Laird Ave., Warren, will sponsor a trip Nov. 12 and 13 to see "The Miracle of Christmas" at Sight and Sound Theater, Lancaster, Pa. There will be a stop at Hershey Chocolate World, mystery stop in Pennsylvania, lunch at Seven Springs Resort and tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Kauffman estate. The cost is $160 and includes two meals.
