CLEVELAND BROWNS FANS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES STEAMING MAD AT DWAYNE RUDD. EVEN LITTLE COLIN RUDD IS UPSET THAT HIS DADDY THREW HIS HELMET. HE'S SORRY IT HAPPENED, BUT THE LINEBACKER FEELS NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO CLEVELAND FANS, HIS TEAMMATES OR ANYBODY ELSE.

Johnny Unitas, who was one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, died Wednesday at age 69.

If it wasn't for the black and gold trim on their jerseys, Jerome Bettis almost wouldn't have recognized the Pittsburgh Steelers. The statistic that really staggered Bettis was the Steelers' 74 yards rushing against New England Monday night, or nearly 100 yards fewer than they averaged last season.

San Francisco 49ers coach Steve Mariucci said last Thursday's win over the New York Giants was anything but a beauty. But in December, it's going to be a big win.
