INDICTMENTS | Mahoning County

A man accused of bludgeoning his companion at their East Side home was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury. Investigators said David Kopnitsky, 23, of North Garland Avenue, beat the man in the head with a blunt object. He was indicted Thursday on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault. Fernando Pacheco, 43, was critically injured. Kopnitsky told police that he had been out drinking beer and returned home around 6 a.m. and found Pacheco bleeding in the bed. Police said they saw no signs of forced entry.

Melissa Posey, 23, Kendis Circle, Youngstown; forgery, tampering with records.
Rashaun J. Barnes, 25, of West Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, and Dennis Gillam, 46, of East Marion Avenue, Youngstown; two counts of burglary.
Daniel L. Bussey, 43, of Beard Road, New Springfield; domestic violence.
James G. Hambrick, 41, of Upton Road, Youngstown; two counts of domestic violence.
Charles E. Condiff, also known as Charles E. Cundiff, 19, of Rush Boulevard, Youngstown; theft, receiving stolen property.
Kevin A. Madison, 34, of Broadway Street, Youngstown; vehicular assault.
Dorethea Fields, 34, of Eastwood, Youngstown; possession of cocaine.
Chaniqua A. Pettway, 28, of Main Street, Youngstown; receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana.
Tonya Davenport, 32, of Terrace Street, Struthers; theft of drugs.
Morris Johnson, 24, of Glenaven Avenue, Youngstown; having weapons while under disability.
Arthur Brantley, 27, of East Philadelphia Avenue, Youngstown; trafficking in cocaine with a forfeiture specification.
Dedric T. Dixon, 25, of Compass Drive West, Youngstown; carrying concealed weapons.
Wellington Kornegay Jr., 24, of Kensington Avenue, Youngstown; possession of cocaine with a forfeiture specification.
