Published: Mon, September 2, 2002 @ 12:00 a.m.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A 45-year-old Plain Grove Township man has been charged after a woman said she was confined to a township home for seven weeks, where she was assaulted, raped and sometimes chained to a bathroom wall.

Wayne Brabson of Arthur Drive was charged by state police in New Castle with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, kidnapping and unlawful restraint.

He is in Lawrence County Jail.

The 38-year-old victim said she was forced to stay in the house from July 7 until Friday. When the attacker was asleep or away, he chained her to the bathroom wall, police said.

She reported she was forced to engage in sexual activities, punched, kicked and struck with various objects, including a maul.

The attacker threatened to kill her and throw her body in the septic tank.

Police would not release any other details.
