roof repair

Published: Sun, September 1, 2002 @ 12:00 a.m.

Safety tips

If you think you might like to try fixing your roof yourself, follow these safety tips:

If your roof is really steep, and high places make you dizzy, by all means, don't try to do the job yourself; call a professional.

If you do decide to go climbing, make sure your ladder is securely grounded.

Watch out for electrical wires.

If you suspect high winds might have ripped off a few shingles, but you want to keep both feet on the ground, you can use a pair of binoculars to search for damage if your roof isn't flat or at too low of a pitch.
