AUSTINTOWN -- Melissa Savage, 6899 Berry Blossom Drive, Canfield, and Gabriel Whorten, 4640 Crabwood Drive, were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. ceremony Aug. 10 at St. Joseph Church.
The Rev. Monsignor John Zuraw presided at the ceremony for the daughter of John and Patti Savage of the Berry Blossom address and the son of David and Patricia Whorten, 3432 Starwick Drive, Canfield.
After a reception at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, the couple left on a cruise to the western Caribbean.
They live at the Crabwood Drive address.
The bride's sleeveless gown of Italian satin was enhanced with embroidery and featured a V-neckline and a tiffany train.
Jamie Savage was the honor attendant for her sister, and bridesmaids were Nicole Drouhard, Nicole Spencer, Lauren Terpek, Stacy Root, Nancy Roth and Nicole Delsignore.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Vincent Whorten. Serving as groomsmen were Dave and Paul Whorten, also his brothers; Joe Morabito, the bride's cousin; Nick Sabino; Jason Galitsky; and Shaun Toth.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with an associate degree in office information systems. She is a legal secretary with Elliott, Helter, Maas, Moro and Magill, Youngstown.
The groom, a software engineer with Notify Technology Corp., Canfield, holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from YSU.
