Local banquets set
Several area chapters of Ducks Unlimited will host banquets in October.
The Lawrence County Chapter will hold it's 30th annual banquet Oct 3 at The Centre in New Castle, the Mahoning chapter banquet will be at St. Mary's Assumption Social Center at 356 S. Belle Vista Ave. in Youngstown on Oct. 4 and the Trumbull chapter has set an Oct. 11 banquet date at G's Golden Gate, 2186 Parkman Road, Warren.
For all the banquets, doors open at 6 with dinner at 7:30.
The Lawrence chapter's tickets are $50 each and sponsors are $250. Email or call (724) 652-0622.
Tickets for the Mahoning banquet will be $50 per person, $80 per couple, $40 for greenwings, $300 for sponsor status and $325 for couple sponsor. Call (330) 533-2455 for more details or to order tickets.

Tickets for these events include appetizers, dinner, drinks as well as auctions and other festivities.
Disabled can still applyfor special deer hunt
About 30 outdoor enthusiasts with special disabilities will get to hunt deer and participate in field activities this fall during Ohio's first-ever "Wheelin' Sportsmen" event.
The event, scheduled for Nov. 8-10 on American Electric Power Recreation lands in Morgan County, is a joint effort between the National Wild Turkey Federation, American Electric Power and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife.
Those interested in participating in the program are encouraged to contact Dave Dingey at (740) 962-1205 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or (740) 962-6220 in the evenings, or Gary Kaster at (740) 962-1200 as soon as possible.
Interested applicants can also mail their name, address and phone number to "Wheelin' Sportsmen," American Electric Power, 59 West Main Street, McConnelsville, OH 43756.
All names received will be submitted for a random drawing to be conducted Sept. 20. Successful applicants will be notified immediately following the drawing.
