CONVICTIONS Litter Enforcement Program


Ten people have been convicted since June as a result of the Youngstown litter enforcement program, bringing total convictions to 22 since the program started in April 2001. To date, $7,110 in fines and court costs have been collected. Those convicted:
James Watkins, Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage, reduced to a minor misdemeanor.
Sentence: $40 fine and $60 court costs.
Walter A. Bishop Sr., Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage, reduced to disorderly conduct.
Sentence: $25 fine and $60 court costs.
Terry Z. Bennett, Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage.
Sentence: $350 fine, 90 days in jail suspended, two years' probation, must produce evidence that debris is properly disposed of.
Felicia Briegs, Youngstown
Charge: Littering from a motor vehicle.
Sentence: $20 fine and $60 court costs.
Ricky Robinson, Youngstown
Charge: Two counts of littering/deposit of garbage.
Sentence: $500 fine plus $60 court costs, 120 days in jail with 92 days suspended, one year probation, 40 hours of community service.
Daniel Richardson, Youngstown
Charge: Littering from a motor vehicle.
Sentence: $50 fine and $60 court costs.
Jess Pritchard, Struthers
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage.
Sentence: $350 fine and $60 court costs, 30 days in jail suspended, two years' probation.
Michael E. Hyland, Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage.
Sentence: $150 fine and $60 court costs, 10 days in jail suspended, one year's probation.
Robert Metzinger, Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage.
Sentence: $250 fine and $60 court costs, 30 days in jail suspended, six months' probation.
Carlos M. Aviles, Youngstown
Charge: Littering/deposit of garbage
Sentence: $350 fine and $60 court costs, 60 days in jail suspended, six months' probation
