HEALTH CARE

YOUNGSTOWN -- Humility of Mary Health Partners has appointed Susan Muth of Struthers as payroll supervisor and Debra Misko of Howland as accounts payable supervisor. Muth has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Slippery Rock University and had been employed by Mahoning County in its finance department. Misko studied business at Kent State University and had been an accounts payable clerk at St. Joseph Health Center.

WARREN -- Four new appointments have been announced at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

Richard T. Bell of Cortland has been named nurse manager of the intermediate care unit. He has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Youngstown State University and had been a staff nurse in the hospital's emergency department.

Diana Richards of Leavittsburg is a new nurse manager of the emergency room and chest pain unit. Richards earned her nursing diploma from Trumbull Memorial School and had been emergency department nurse coordinator.

Elaine Jones of Cortland was named nurse manager of surgical services. She earned her nursing diploma from Washington Hospital School of Nursing and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at Kent State University. She had been surgery nurse coordinator at St. Joseph's.

Mary Frances Sohayda of Hartford was named nurse manager of the pediatric department. She has an associate degree from Youngstown State University and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from Penn State University. She had been a staff nurse.

YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center is announcing four new appointments.

Ruthanne Salreno of Canfield, is nurse manager of the hospital's Wound Care Center. Formerly a nurse manager for HM Home Care, she is a graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from Youngstown State University.

Tom Bartos of Boardman is a new nurse manager of the emergency department. A graduate of St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing, he has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Kent State University and a master's in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. He had been an emergency department clinical nurse specialist for Forum Health Northside Medical Center.

Lori DeNiro of Canfield and Mary Ellen Michael of Boardman were also named nurse managers at the hospital. DeNiro, who will work in the progressive cardiac care unit, is a graduate of St. E's nursing school and YSU. She had been a registered nurse coordinator. Michael will work in the neonatal special care and intermediate nurseries, pediatrics and perinatal education. She earned her nursing diploma from St. E's nursing school and is pursuing a bachelor's degree from YSU.

BANKING AND FINANCE

WARREN -- Second National Bank has appointed Jackie A. Pakos to a mortgage loan officer position. An employee since 1995, Pakos has an associate degree in accounting technology from Kent State University.

YOUNGSTOWN - Aaron D. Frank of North Jackson is the new branch sales manager at the Arrowhead office of Home Savings and Loan. Frank, a Lordstown High School graduate, has a bachelor's degree in finance from Youngstown State University and five years of banking experience.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Cohen & amp; Co., Certified Public Accountants, has promoted Nicole Hackstedde to manager and Trinette Roberson to senior accountant in the Youngstown accounting and auditing department. Hackstedde, of Struthers, has a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Dayton. Roberson, a Youngstown resident, has a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Youngstown State University.

CANFIELD -- Sky Bank has hired James E. Wilson as manager of its Canfield financial center. Wilson has seven years of banking experience and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Youngstown State University. The Youngstown resident also holds an Ohio Life Insurance License to sell annuities.

MANUFACTURING

PELLA, Iowa -- Melvin R. Haught, a Youngstown State University graduate, has been named president and chief executive of Pella Corp. effective Dec. 31, and he will serve as president and chief operating officer until that date. Haught had served as executive vice president and president and chief operating officer of the firm's Pella Division. He has been a member of the corporation's board of directors since 1999. He earned his bachelor's degree in education at YSU in 1968 and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School this year. Before joining Pella he worked at General Motors Packard Electric Division, now Delphi Packard Electric Systems.

REAL ESTATE

BOARDMAN -- Margaret Nigro of Boardman has joined Burgan Real Estate Ltd. as a full-time real estate professional. A Cardinal Mooney High School graduate, Nigro has been a Realtor for nearly 20 years, specializing in new construction and condominiums. She will be based in the company's Boardman office.

EDUCATION

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Julie Sullivan, a Youngstown State University graduate, has been hired as the new development officer for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Florida. Sullivan had been associate director of development for annual giving at Ohio University in Athens. She earned both her bachelor's degree in retail marketing and her master's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

YOUNGSTOWN -- Dan McCown of Poland has been hired as director of programs for the Youngstown/ Warren Regional Chamber. He has a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and has more than 26 years of experience producing and designing special events, trade shows, conventions and other events. McCown came to the Chamber from BBX, LLC of Akron and also held positions in New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and Cleveland.

WARREN -- Terry Jo Supancic has been appointed program director of A House of Blessing in Warren, a transitional housing program of Beatitude House. Supancic has a bachelor's degree in education form Clarion State University and a master's in education from St. Bonaventure University. She has also taken graduate courses at Youngstown State University and Ursuline College. She had been a family-life director for the Catholic diocese, a Catholic school teacher and a director of religious education for area parishes.

RETAIL

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Kevin Johnson of Lowellville has been hired as a manager trainee at the 84 Lumber store in New Castle, Pa. A Youngstown native, Johnson graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1991 and expects to graduate with a bachelor's degree from Malone College in 2003.
