Summary of police activity:

CANFIELD

May 22

Burglary: A resident of the 100 block of Village Boulevard reported that numerous items have turned up missing from her home over the past several years, and that she believes someone is coming in and out of her house and taking the items. Missing are towels, canned goods, pens, linens, pillow slips, blouses, dishes, a hose for the outside, a gold cross on a chain, two gold watches, two gold rings and a bracelet with blue stones and sapphires.

May 24

Drug paraphernalia: A 26-year-old Laurel Avenue, Youngstown, man was arrested after a traffic stop in the 300 block of Lisbon Street on charges of drug abuse after police said they found suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.

May 25

Theft: A weed trimmer was reported stolen from a locked shed at the Old North Church. A locked padlock was cut off the shed.

Drug possession: Police charged a 19-year-old Canfield man with drug abuse and possession after a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Main Street after police found a plastic bag with 0.33 grams of suspected marijuana in his car.

May 26

Vehicle theft: A 1997 GEO tracker was stolen from an impound lot at Wertz Mobil, 10 E. Main St. The operators speculate that the owner took the car without paying the cost of towing.

AUSTINTOWN

May 21

Warrant: Police arrested a man on a warrant out of Austintown Police Department on a charge of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Mahoning Avenue and Javit Court.

Aggravated menacing: The victim was threatened by her ex-boyfriend with a knife at an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A gas edger was stolen from Sears, 6009 Mahoning Ave.

Attempted theft: A theft from an auto was attempted when a sunroof was pried open at the carports in the 4000 block of New Hampshire Court.

Auto theft: A 1991 Buick was stolen from the Regal Cinemas, 6020 Mahoning Ave.

Arrest: Youngstown police arrested a 34-year-old man accused of stealing cigarettes after he also was accused of the same offense at Valley View gas station, 3605 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Money was reported taken from an apartment in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

May 22

Breaking and entering: The interior of a residence was damaged in the 500 block of DePauw Avenue.

May 23

Criminal damage: A trash container was spray-painted at Mike's Transmission, 202 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: A purse was stolen at Sammy Max, 1722 S. Raccoon Road. The suspect later was arrested by Niles police.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was spray-painted at Mike's Transmission.

Theft: Stereo equipment was stolen from a vehicle in the residential 70 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Breaking and entering: Tractor blades and a loader bucket were stolen from Norcan Farm Equipment, 3721 Mahoning Ave.

Arrest: Police arrested two men at Sears, 6009 Mahoning Ave., one on a warrant out of Youngstown Municipal Court on a charge of failure to appear on drug charges and the other on a warrant out of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department for a probation violation.

Burglary: A John Deere mower was taken from a residence in the 3000 block of Allendale Ave.

Theft: Police arrested a man on a warrant out of Mahoning County Court here for failure to appear on a theft charge for a crime in the 1000 block of Canfield-Niles Road.

May 24

Summons: Police arrested a man on a summons for disorderly conduct at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road

Summons: Police arrested a man on a summons for drug abuse involving marijuana at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Summons: Police arrested a woman on a summons for disorderly conduct at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Felonious assault: A woman was struck by a beer bottle at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Items were taken from a residence, possibly by the previous owners, in the residential 6000 block of Timberidge Avenue.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged in the 5000 block of Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Police arrested a woman on a summons charging theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Arrest: Police arrested a woman on charges of theft and possession of a drug instrument at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A stereo was stolen from an auto in the residential 70 block of South Main Street.

May 25

Drug offense: Police arrested a man on a drug offense at the intersection of state Route 11 and Mahoning Avenue.

Criminal damage: A vehicle's finish was scratched at Bill's Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Fifty cans of Similac and a bag of dog food were stolen from Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A gold necklace was reported stolen at the Sleep Inn, 5555 Interstate Blvd.

Arrest: Police arrested a man on a warrant for theft in the residential 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal damage: A glass patio door was damaged in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was spray-painted in the residential 900 block of Compass West apartments.

Arrest: Police arrested a man on an aggravated assault charge on Norquest Boulevard on a warrant through the Youngstown Police Department.

Theft: Money was stolen from a purse at Briarfield Manor, Ashley Circle.

Theft: A woman's purse, camera, money and California license were stolen at The Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Criminal damage: Spray paint on a vehicle was reported in the residential 1000 block of Rosemont Avenue.

Criminal damage: A windshield was shot by a BB gun in the residential 5000 block of Webb Road.

Criminal damage: A window and screen were damaged in the 6000 block of Abbott Avenue.

Felonious assault: A driver tried to force another driver off the road at Mahoning Avenue and Four Mile Run Road.
