Aeros lose 6-2

Julio DePaula allowed just two runs in 71/3 innings to lead the Norwich Navigators to a 6-2 win Monday over the Akron Aeros in the Eastern League. DePaula (4-2) allowed five hits, walked three and struck out three. Mike Cervenak scored the eventual winning run with two outs in the fourth inning on a wild pitch by losing pitcher Matt White (0-2). Victor Martinez hit a two-run home run in the fourth for Akron (33-15).

Youth coaches

Youth baseball and softball managers submitting game reports to The Vindicator must include the date the game was played, the age group and name of the league, and first and last names for both teams. If the reports are incomplete, only the score will be published. Scores may be submitted by fax (330-747-6712) or e-mail (sports@vindy.com). Results will not be taken by phone.
