Expert to speak

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. William Hudnut of Chevy Chase, Md., will speak at 11 a.m. May 19 at First Presbyterian Church.

He is a senior resident fellow at The Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C. Hudnut is also the former mayor of Indianapolis and a Presbyterian minister whose grandfather was pastor of First Presbyterian Church.

New church meets

LIBERTY -- A new church, Resurrection Life Chapel, is meeting at 10:30 a.m. Sundays in the meeting room at the Days Inn.

The interdenominational congregation plans to complete building a church in Niles this fall.

Women's events

YOUNGSTOWN -- New Beginnings Outreach Ministries will hold a women's day service at 11 a.m. Sunday.

On May 18, the church's women's ministry will have a women's prayer breakfast at 9 a.m.

Benefit concert set

COLUMBIANA -- Chip Richter of Columbiana will perform in an outdoor concert at The Way Station at 6 p.m. today as part of a drive to collect food.

People should bring nonperishable food items and lawn chairs. The event will be in The Upper Room Fellowship in case of rain.

Special programs

YOUNGSTOWN -- Antioch Missionary Baptist Church is having two programs, including a mime ministry with New Bethel Baptist Church at 4 p.m. May 19.

At 6:30 p.m. May 24, the church will have a men's and women's day celebration at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.

The speaker is the Rev. John Maiden, associate pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Cleveland.

The cost of the semi-formal event is $25 per adult and $15 per child. Call (330) 746-2848.

Coalition program

WARREN -- The Secret Place and Glory 2 Glory Coalition will present the "Chain Breaker Experience" at 7 p.m. Friday at New Jerusalem Fellowship.

The program will be presented by youths for both youths and adults.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Patti May Cangiano of Shasta Lake, Calif., will speak on "The Healing Power of Forgiveness" at 11 a.m. May 18 at First Church of Christ Scientist.

Mother's Day celebration

GIRARD -- Girard First United Methodist Church will have a Mother's Day celebration at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

Women's conference

LIBERTY -- Pastor Vera Shymoniak of Pittsburgh will speak during a "Who's That Lady" program from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 8 at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex.

The cost is $20.

Pastor appreciation

YOUNGSTOWN -- Union Baptist Church will have programs to celebrate the seventh anniversary of service at the church by Pastor Michael H. Harrison Sr. and his family.

There will be a banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the MetroPlex in Girard. The cost is $25.

Dr. I.T. Bradley from Akron will speak at 6 p.m. May 18 during a celebration of church ministries. Pastor Kenneth Paramore from United Baptist Church in Akron will speak at 10:45 a.m. May 19. Call (330) 746-1217.
