YOUNGSTOWN -- SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, will present three new businesses with Salute to Success awards when members meet for their annual recognition dinner May 8 at the Saxon Club in Austintown.

Business owners to be honored are: Andrew Welch, owner of Dynafab LLC, a manufacturing plant on Tod Avenue in Youngstown; Tom White and family, owners of Pizza Joe's Pasta Bowl, a family restaurant on Sycamore Drive, New Middletown; and Dr. Marnie Murphy of Murphy Chiropractor Service Inc., North Broad Street, Canfield.

The dinner and awards ceremony are in conjunction with National Small Business Week.

SCORE recognizes one or more new companies each year which have been successful after using the group's free business start-up counseling, including business plan writing, marketing and financing advice.

SCORE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business.

Affiliated with the United States Small Business Administration, the local chapter is based at Williamson Hall at Youngstown State University and has offices in Warren, Salem and Sharon.
