Wilkoff eventat Squaw Creek
VIENNA -- The 10th Lee Wilkoff Junior golf tournament will take place Friday at Squaw Creek Country Club.
A record 205 entries will take part in the event, which includes three age divisions for boys and girls.
Two defending champions return to this year's field. Two-time winner Alexandra Casi of East Palestine will defend her 16-18 girls crown. A year ago she posted an even-par 72, the best overall score of the tournament. Kelly Baytos of Warren, who finished third to Casi a year ago, also returns.
Katie Rogner of Fowler, who won the girls 10-12 title a year ago, moves up to 13-15 division.
In the boys division, Benjamin Imhoff of North Bloomfield is the only returning place winner at 16-18. He finished fifth with a 78.
In the 13-15 age group, Tom Dunlap of East Liverpool, who was second a year ago, returns.
The event, which began at Stambaugh Golf Course, was started by Phyllis Wilkoff in memory of her late husband.
Hawley amongwinners at Mercer
MERCER, Pa. -- Jimmy Hawley (Luxaire Heating & amp; Cooling Sprint Cars), Bob Dorman (Big-Block Modifieds), Les Myers (New Castle School of Trades Sportsman Modifieds) and Bobby Whitling (Butterfield's Pub Stock Cars) were winners Saturday at Mercer Raceway Park.
The next event is Saturday, with sprints, big-block mods, sportsman mods and stocks. The gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing at 7.
BOARDMAN -- Rae Bennehoof of Boardman recorded a hole-in-one at Venango Golf Course in Pittsburgh. It was the third ace of Bennehoof's career, not the first, as reported Sunday.
Ryan Sachireis tourney champ
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Ryan Sachire, a Canfield native, won the Hyundai USTA Futures Professional Tennis Tournament, beating Raver Klassen of South Africa, 6-2, 6-1 Sunday.
Sachire has made it to the semifinals in three other tournaments this year and will compete in a Decatur, Ill., tournament, starting today.
Skate clubin competition
BOARDMAN -- The Ice Zone Skating Club will compete in the World Recreational Team Championship today through Saturday at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Mass.
Last year in this meet, the Ice Zone club placed third overall against 100 teams and 2,000 skaters from as far away as Tokyo.
The Ice Zone team will be represented by 40 skaters ranging in ages from 3 to 77.
One of the meet highlights is the Kaleidoskate event, in which the entire team makes a kaleidoscope on the ice. The Ice Zone team will skate to the theme of American Spirit.
Prejsnar, RudzikSalem winners
SALEM -- Mark Prejsnar was the overall winner with a time of 16 minutes, 44 seconds in the Salem Lions Club 5K run. Josh Boggs placed second in 17:15.
Becky Rudzik took first place in the women's Club 5K run with a time of 19:46 and Wilma DePiore finished second in 10:27.
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Philadelphia 76ers forward Derrick Coleman was arrested when police said he refused to take a breath test for alcohol after being stopped for driving about 100 mph. The speed limit on Interstate 696 in the Detroit suburb is 70 mph.
SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Starzz center Margo Dydek was suspended by the WNBA for one game after exceeding the maximum allowable four flagrant foul penalty points this season. She will miss Wednesday's home game against Miami.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers' first-year pitching coach Dave Stewart quit, saying he planned to care for his mother and spend more time with family.
