Published: Sun, July 28, 2002 @ 12:00 a.m.

BOARDMAN -- A dinner party was held July 21 at the Lockwood House in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Demsky of Boardman.

Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Cheryl and Jim Wahlman of Boardman and Ed and Shelly Demsky of Canfield. Their other daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Steve Halliday of Woodstock, Ga., who were unable to attend, celebrated the occasion with them earlier this summer in Georgia.

Seven grandchildren complete the family.

Mr. Demsky and the former Irene Rutkowski were married July 12, 1952, at St. John the Baptist Polish Church in Campbell, now known as St. Joseph the Provider Church. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He retired in 1989 from Federal Wholesale Co.

His wife worked as a legal secretary for Attys. Schermer, Goldstein and Millstone.

The couple are members of St. Luke Church.
