POLAND -- Christine James, a daughter of Stephen and Shirley James, 3355 Hummingbird Drive, and Jeff Shepherd of Brunswick, a son of Homer and Doris Shepherd of North Royalton, were united in marriage July 26 at Holy Family Church. The Rev. Donald King officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony.
After a reception at The Georgetown in Boardman, the couple left on a wedding trip to Las Vegas. They will live in Brunswick.
The bride's strapless gown featured a beaded bodice, a full tulle skirt and a semicathedral train. She wore a pearl headpiece created by her mother from her own wedding headpiece.
Toni Hritz, the honor attendant, wore a black gown, as did the bridesmaids, Jill Varley; Theresa Jasinski; Paula James, the bride's sister-in-law; and Carrie Ryan and Lisa Kidney, her cousins. The groom's niece, Danielle Blazek, was flower girl.
Rich Bachelor served as best man, and groomsmen were Jesse Howell, nephew of the groom; Joel Funk; Brad Anderson; Brian James, the bride's brother; and George Williams. Ring bearer was her nephew, Brendan James.
The bride is employed by North Royalton Board of Education as a mathematics teacher. She holds a bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University and a master's in computer technology from Kent State University. The groom earned a bachelor's in sports management from South Carolina University in Aiken, S.C., and is a teacher and varsity boys basketball coach at Brooklyn High School, Brooklyn, Ohio.
