Zetts III honored
Michael Zetts III of Struthers has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Zetts, a son of Michael and Shirley Zetts, is a member of Troop 101 in Struthers, and his scoutmaster is Jeff Wormley.
Zetts has served in troop positions as instructor, quartermaster and senior patrol leader. He earned 26 merit badges, and his awards and honors include Fifth Year Pipestone and the Stambaugh Emblem.
His Eagle Scout project was to collect data for, compile and distribute an address directory of Coitsville. He presented copies of the directory to the township fire and police departments. The directory ensures that the Coitsville emergency services have a location guide to aid them in immediate response to an emergency.
Eagle award for Valley
Joseph Michael Valley, 15, son of Nicholas and Maria Valley of Canfield, has received his Eagle Scout Award during a court of honor ceremony at St. Joseph Church in Austintown.
He has been in Scouting for nine years beginning as a Wolf Cub Scout in 1993 at Austintown Community Church Pack 84. He has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 84 for five years, where he has earned 24 merit badges.
He has served as the troop's patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader and bugler. He is the troop representative of the Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the Ad Altare Dei and Parvuli Dei awards.
His Eagle Scout project was to plant day lilies at the entrance of Austintown Township Park.
He attends Ursuline High School and participated in the Ohio Business Week Project at Youngstown State University this summer.
New M.D. Jeffrey Ho
Jeffrey Ho of Canfield recently received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Ho, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Ho of Canfield, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1998. He is a 1994 graduate of Canfield High School.
While in medical school, Dr. Ho was a student teaching assistant in physiology, and served a rotation in internal medicine in Honduras. From 1999 to 2002, he served as class secretary of the Medical Student Association. He was a member of the American Medical Student association and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Ho is performing his residency in anesthesiology at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. McNally's residency
Dr. Mimi McNally of Canfield has accepted an internal medicine residency position at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where she will complete her second- and third-year requirements.
Dr. McNally recently completed her first year internal medicine residency at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. She received her combined bachelor's and master's degrees from Youngstown State University and the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown in 2001. She is a 1995 graduate of Canfield High School.
Dr. McNally is the daughter of Mike and Eileen McNally of Canfield.
Sop earns degree
Aaron Leigh Sop of Brookfield has earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Des Moines University, Osteopathic Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
Dr. Sop, a son of Charles and Sandra Sop of Brookfield, is a Warren JFK High School graduate. He attended the University of Kentucky for two years, where he played football and participated in the Peach Bowl game. He later transferred to Kent State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree with honors in 1998.
Dr. Sop will do a residency at UPMC Horizon, Farrell.
Tracy Kish graduates
Tracy Kish, a former Youngstown resident, received a juris doctorate from New England School of Law at commencement exercises at Wang Center for the Performing Arts in Boston.
She is the daughter of Melvin and Maureen Kish of Youngstown.
A 1989 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and a 1993 graduate of Youngstown State University, she plans to take the Massachusetts bar examination.
A dean's list student while in law school, Kish received an Excellence for the Future Award and was a legal assistant for the law firm of Greenburg-Traurig in Boston.
Jennifer Robyn Harris has earned her juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law.
Harris, a 1995 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, received a bachelor's degree in history from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1999.
She is the daughter of David and Colleen Harris of Boardman.
