Kennedy Golf Classic is revised

BOARDMAN -- The Fifth annual Neil Kennedy Celebrity Golf Classic will have a new format this year.
The event, which will be held Monday at the Youngstown Country Club, begins with a dinner and sports auction Sunday at the Boardman Holiday Inn.
Many sports items and gift packages will be offered through silent and oral auctions.
Some of the items include a signed Sam McDowell Cleveland Indians uniform, a signed Willie Mays bat, a signed Jim Brown football, a signed Sugar Ray Leonard boxing glove and a signed Wayne Gretzky hockey puck.
Gift packages include a Cleveland Indians baseball package, golf vacations and miscellaneous travel and entertainment packages.
Monday, McDowell and other celebrity sports figures will join amateur golfers to play the Youngstown Country Club in a scramble format.
Proceeds go to the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic Dick Riley Fellowship Hall, which is home to over 25 NA and AA weekly meetings.
For information about the auction or golf classic, call Debbie Harding at (330) 744-1181, ext. 101.
