Crime Stoppers sale

BOARDMAN -- Crime Stoppers is seeking donations of unwanted items for its end-of-summer garage sale fund-raiser. Items may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday and Aug. 10 at Uncle Bob's Self Storage E No. 2, 446 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Bikers raise MDA funds

YOUNGSTOWN -- More than 150 Harley-Davidson enthusiasts collectively raised $5,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the 13th motorcycle rodeo and pledge ride.

Participants began a 60-mile ride at the Harley-Davidson of Youngstown dealership and ended at the Aut Mori Grotto in Canfield on Sunday. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the slow ride, balloon toss and "weenie" bite contests.

MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat 43 neuromuscular diseases through medical research. The MDA also operates a comprehensive program of patient services, including a summer camp for children. Programs are funded by private contributors.
