A fugitive from justice is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Robbery.Location: Sharon.Details: Police have secured a warrant for the arrest of Willie F. Phillips Jr., 34, on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Phillips, a professional boxer, is accused of striking a Farrell man twice in the face in the 400 block of North Street on June 30. The victim's left eye was destroyed in what police said was an unprovoked attack.Description: Phillips is a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. He has a muscular build and a scar on the left side of his face. His last known address was Florence Street in Sharon, but he is known to spend time in Florida.Contact: Call Crime Solvers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 347-HELP. Callers do not have to give their names.Reward: Crime Solvers, a nonprofit organization, offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in Mercer County.
