YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Firas Saker is the new director of the Division of Neonatology at Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital. Before coming to Tod Children's, Dr. Saker was the associate fellowship director and Neonatal Life-Flight Transport medical director at Cleveland's MetroHealth Medical Center and the coordinator for the newborn rotation at Case Western Reserve University Medical School.
He graduated from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria, and is double board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. Dr. Saker completed his fellowship at Rainbow Babies & amp; Children's Hospital and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, both in Cleveland. He is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University and a member of faculty at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mark A. Herron, who joined Sky Bank as community development officer in January, has been promoted to assistant vice president, focusing primarily on affordable housing, home ownership, economic revitalization and small business growth. Based in Youngstown, Herron has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Akron. He lives in Cortland.
WARREN -- Second National Bank has appointed Kenneth A. Vesper as assistant vice president, loan workout officer. He joined the company in May with almost 30 years of experience in banking, loans and collection. He attended Kent State University.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Handel's Inc. has promoted Jennifer Meyers to corporate trainer, in charge of training franchisees in the operation of a Handel's Ice Cream Parlor. Meyers has been manager of the Handel's store on Boardman-Canfield Road for four years.
EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. -- The 84 Lumber Co. has hired Chad Goblinger, a Hubbard native, as a manager trainee for its store in Fruitland, Md., and Robert Corey of Columbiana as manager trainee in its Brookfield store. Goblinger graduated from Ursuline High School in 1995 and earned a degree from Youngstown State University in 2000. Corey, who lives in Canfield, graduated from Crestview High School in 1992.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Marcus Thomas LLC has promoted Mary Swan-Bell of Bazetta to production manager in its advertising group. Swan-Bell joined the company in 1999 as production coordinator, coming from Warren Printing where she was an account executive. She has a bachelor's degree in professional writing and editing/journalism from Youngstown State University.
AUSTINTOWN -- Christina Gaca of Austintown is a new consultant for Tastefully Simple, Inc., a national direct sales company based in Alexandria, Minn.
