Big 33's border battle

Published: Sat, July 13, 2002 @ 12:00 a.m.

Big 33's border battle

Big 33 players will descend on Hershey, Pa., today to start preparing for the annual Ohio vs. Pennsylvania high school all-star football game July 20.

Pennsylvania has won the past two games and holds a 5-4 edge over Ohio since the series resumed in 1993.

Berwick coach George Curry, who will guide the Pennsylvania team, said West Allegheny's Tyler Palko will probably start at quarterback over Lancaster McCaskey's Perry Patterson, although both will play.

Steve Breaston of Woodland Hills, who quarterbacked the Wolverines to the District 7 Class AAAA title and the PIAA final, is expected to play wide receiver and in the secondary.

Palko, the Pennsylvania Big School player of the year, and Patterson are both left-handed passers.
