ODOT schedules meeting to discuss Route 46 project

MINERAL RIDGE -- The Ohio Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mineral Ridge High School cafeteria to discuss the proposed widening of and improvements to state Route 46.

ODOT proposes to widen the roadway from New Road to Silica Road in Austintown and from Webb Road in Austintown to Youngstown-Salt Springs Road in Weathersfield Township.

Other improvements proposed for these stretches of roadway include resurfacing, drainage system improvements with curbs and gutters, traffic signal upgrades, sidewalks, pavement markings and signs.

Representatives from ODOT and McCoy Associates Inc., the design consultant for the project, will be available to address questions.

Comments may be submitted during the meeting or mailed to: Mr. Mohamed Darwish, P.E., District 4 Deputy Director, ODOT, 705 Oakwood St., Ravenna 44266. Attention: William E. Murphy, AICP, District 4 Planning and Programs Administrator.

The final date to submit comments is Aug. 5.
