ASSOCIATIONS

XAlliance Area Retired Teachers Association will meet for lunch at noon July 19 at Silver Park Jaycee Pavilion in Alliance. Lary Dordea, Alliance police chief, will give the program, "Beware of Scams." Cost is $7, and reservations must be made by Friday to (330) 823-6216 or mail to AARTA, Jean Cowan, 233 Laramie St., Alliance, Ohio 44601.

AUXILIARIES

XWestern Reserve Care System Volunteer Auxiliary will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. July 15 at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana. A tour of the inn and shopping will follow. A carpool will leave at 10:15 a.m. from visitor's parking off Goleta at Forum Health Northside Hospital and at 10:30 a.m. from Austintown. Reservations are to be made by Friday with Agnes Krut, (330) 755-5296.

POLITICAL GROUPS

XWestern Reserve Republican Women will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at the Republican headquarters on Boardman-Canfield Road. Evelyn Cannon will be the auctioneer for a fund-raiser.

SINGLES

XCatholic Alumni Club will meet at 5 p.m. July 20 for Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles. Afterwards members will attend the church's festival. Those planning to attend should call (330) 755-0113.

XD.A.R.E. activities are as follows: dance at Choices at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, cost $4; walk on the hike-bike trail in Boardman from Dr. Shah's parking lot at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday; and new member meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. XSalem Area Singles will meet at 5:30 p.m. Friday for dinner at Charley's Steakhouse and a movie afterward.

SUPPORT GROUPS

XF.O.C.U.S., Friends Offering Compassionate Understanding Support for breast cancer survivors, will hold a picnic at 6 p.m. July 17 at the Ex-servicemen's Pavilion at Boardman Township Park. The committee will provide chicken, beverages and paper products. Casseroles should serve 12 and include a serving spoon. Those whose last names begin with A through G should take salad; H through P, vegetable; and Q through Z, dessert.
