YOUNGSTOWN -- Donna Arlene Gibson became the bride of Roy Delaney Phifer Jr. during a ceremony June 15 at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
The Rev. Jack Pettis officiated for the daughter of Mary Anderson Gibson of Liberty Township and the late Randall Gibson and the son of Roy Phifer Sr. and Joyce Phifer, both of Youngstown.
The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise following a reception at the Regency House in Austintown.
They are living in Youngstown.
The bride wore a beaded satin and organza gown and was given in marriage by her brother, Anthony Gibson.
Robin Bailey and Theresa Jones were maids of honor wearing gray gowns. Lavender gowns were worn by the bridesmaids, Cissly Anderson, Linda Blake, Valarie Snipes, Renee Williams and Jennifer Jackson. Junior bridesmaids were Kymberlie, Myra and Krista Jackson. Casey Anderson was flower girl.
Best man was David Phifer, and groomsmen were Art McGinnis, Mark Talaganis, Marvin Phifer, Robert Anderson and Gerald Moon. Junior groomsmen were Roy III and Marterrell Phifer and Kenneth Jackson. Dewayne Fields was ring bearer, and Darrell, Delbert and Darnell Jones were ushers. Also participating were Trevon Howell-Gibson, Rosylyn Jennings, Tywana Phifer and Cheryl Kelly.
The bride is a laborer with Local 935.
Mr. Phifer is employed as a driver for Bake Mark.
