BABE RUTH (14-15s)
Commercial Neon 21, Central Optical 8 -- Dan Balog led a 17-hit attack with a home run. Ron Palowitz added a three-run double.
East Side Kiwanis 7, Belleria Pizza 0 -- Ben Detweiler hit a two-run homer and a two-run double to lead Kiwanis. Jim Hlebak added three hits and Matt Savon two, including a triple. John Warren tossed a five-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Sluggers 13, Central Optical 6 -- Bryan Boyce went 4-for-4 with a double while Dave Piersante and Jim Petrolla had two hits. Tyler Stanley hit a three-run triple and Josh McKenney added a double. Adam Miller pitched three scoreless innings for the win and Greg Sansone earned a save.
Sluggers 6, Belleria Pizza 2 -- Lou Kopachy's three-run homer in the fifth broke the game open. Josh McKenney got the win and Adam Miller pitched 2 1/3 hitless innings for the save. Ryan Hamilton singled and tripled and Jim Gromada had an RBI double. For Belleria, Justin Lemmo tripled and Justin Herberger had two hits.
East Side Kiwanis 10, Central Optical 9 -- Danny Hammond and Kevin Sikora had four hits each and Derek Baker scored the winning run in the 11th inning. Matt Backes pitched four scoreless innings of relief for the win. Danny Babyak and Kevin Drummond had three hits each for Central.
Astros 15, Campbell 3 -- David Vitko got the win for the Astros in five innings, giving up four hits and striking out seven. Vitko also had three hits. Matt Ruble had two hits, including a double, while Matt Bable had a three-run single. Donnie Stanovac added two hits. Justin Vrona scored twice for Campbell.
Commercial Neon 9, Storm 1 -- Jeff Eck pitched the win while Joe Fox had two singles and a double. Louis Salreno and John Pitzulo chipped in with two hits apiece for Neon.
Tri-T COLT (15-16s)
Austintown Home Depot 11, East Liverpool Sky Bank 10 -- Mike Swoboda was the winning pitcher. Reid Rouser, Mike Cammacci, Scott Summers and Brandon Polish all had two hits. One of Polish's was a home run.
Tri-T PONY (13-14s)
Robert Senn 7, L. Calvin Jones 4 -- Scott Harmon hit a three-run homer and John Manzoian scored twice. Marek Slipski drove in two runs. Bryan Stolte and Jonathan Bastian combined for the win and struck out eight batters. Stolte had two hits. Justin Laufman went 2-for-4 with a double to pace L. Calvin Jones.
