Express takes 2-1 lead in Little 'b'

STRUTHERS -- Youngstown Express defeated Astro Falcons 10-4 Tuesday to take a 2 games to 1 lead in the best-of-5 Class Little b championship series at Cene Park.
Express scored multiple runs in four innings while Astro Falcons were only able to plate single tallies in four frames.
Joe Pitzer had three hits, including a double, to lead Express, while Shawn Carr, Mike Buzin, and Chris Douglas added two hits each. One of Buzin's hits was a double and he also had three RBIs, as did Carr.
Doug Brown allowed just three hits in six plus innings to get the win.
For Astros, Justin Montgomery and Nathan Porter had doubles. Game four of the series will be played today at 7 p.m. on field two at Cene Park.
The Class B playoffs begin today night on the main field at Cene Park. At 6 p.m. Youngstown Propane will play Astro Falcons, followed by the top seed, Line Drive Academy, against Youngstown Express.
Game two of the best-of-3 series will be Thursday at 6 p.m,
Line Drive and the Express will meet, followed by Propane against Astros. On Friday, either the deciding games in the series will play, or the best-of-5 championship series will begin.
