BASEBALL

Tri-T Colt (ages 15-16)

Struthers Daily Legal News 6, East Liverpool Sky Bank 4 -- Mike Dubos struck out nine batters and had two hits including a double. Jon Neider and Chris Broderick had back-to-back homers. Neider also doubled. Broderick struck out two batters in the seventh to get the save. Adam Wolfgang doubled and made the final out in a play at the plate. Lubich had two hits including a double for East Liverpool.

Austintown Home Depot 4, Austintown Choice One 0 -- Mike Swoboda was the winning pitcher. John Grover, Dan Gerberry, Brandon Polish and Matt Truswell all had two hits for Home Depot.

Austintown Home Depot 6, Salem Parker Hunter 4 -- Jim Balog was the winning pitcher. John Grover and Matt Truswell had two hits each.

Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)

Boardman R & amp; J Trucking 11, Salem Eljer 1 -- Mark Carrocce pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out five batters. A.J Caraballo had a home run while Jeff Olenych went 3-for-3. Carrocce and Josh Kershner each had two hits.

Boardman R & amp; J Trucking 12, Campbell 0 -- Geoff Marple and Andrew Chifolo combined to strike out eight batters. Eddie Rohan, Jeff Olenych and Josh Kershner each had two hits.

Canfield Robert Senn 20, Niles Ianozone's Pizza 5 -- Vinnie Patella, Mark Slipski, Matt Keating, Travis Kneen, Alan Jarmusch, Paul Sabol and Bryan Stolte each had two hits. Keating tripled and Sabol doubled. For Niles, Anthony Roberts had three hits while Nick Aulet had two and scored twice.

Canfield Anthem Blue Cross 8, Poland Spartan Chevrolet 3 -- Pat Bellish homered and tossed five innings of hitless ball. Bob Carlson doubled for Poland.

Babe Ruth (ages 14-15)

Sluggers 6, Central Optical 4 -- Josh McKenney's double in the fifth put the Sluggers up for good. Calvin Clayton was the winning pitcher while Greg Sansone picked up the save. Brett Grabman doubled twice and Jim Gromada had a double and a single. Lou Kopachy and Ryan Hamilton added two hits and Tyler Stanley doubled.

East Side Kiwanis 10, Campbell 7 -- Matt Backes had three hits while Jim Kriebel and Derek Baker smacked triples to pace Kiwanis' 16-hit attack.

Astros 18, Commercial Neon 8 -- Pat Figley got the win for Astro. Donnie Stanovak went 4-for-4 with four RBIs. David Vitko was 4-for-5 with six RBIs. Jimmy Pasquine and Mike Welce added two hits each.

Storm 9, Belleria Pizza 8.

SOFTBALL

Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)

Boardman Kiwanis 12-9, Austintown 0-3.

Boardman Kiwanis 5, Canfield No. 1 3.

Boardman Kiwanis 12, Struthers No. 1 3.

Ohio Stars NSA Tournament

(14-under)

CANFIELD -- Valley Sting Purple (43-8) defeated Ohio Top Guns 8-0, Mogadore Topcatz 10-0, Ohio Jaguars 5-1 and Keystone State Stealers 4-0 before losing to Ohio Ice Orange 4-0 in the championship game. Trisha Dreslinski threw a no-hitter while Alli Patton collected six hits. In with five hits were Darlene Bott, Jill Moga, Amber Adley, Jaclyn Carpenter and Dreslinski.
