N.Y. firefighter to visit

POLAND -- Poland Firefighters Association will present Lt. Scott Maxwell, a New York City firefighter, who will speak July 13 at the Poland Public Library. He will talk about the World Trade Centers collapse in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. Admission is free but tickets are required; call (330) 757-8268. A social hour will be at 6:15 p.m., with the program at 7.

Operation Safe Streets

NORTH JACKSON -- Jackson Township Police Department is conducting Operation Safe Streets through Monday, enforcing use of safety belts and child restraints, as well as monitoring speed and driving.
