Noe 50th anniversary celebrated during barbecue held on June 9

NORTH JACKSON -- Friends and relatives attended a barbecue held June 9 in celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Henry Noe Jr. at their home at 10851 Mahoning Ave.
Hosts for the event were their children, Jacqueline Gregory and Debra Spisak, both of Diamond; Belinda Stroup of Deerfield; Marcine Higgins of Alliance; and Hubert H. Noe III of Newton Falls. Also participating were their 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Noe and the former Emma Lou Sykes were united in marriage June 10, 1952, at the home of their minister in Columbus.
Prior to retiring in 1986, Mrs. Noe was a cook at Isaly's Restaurant.
Mr. Noe served from 1948 to 1952 during the occupation of Japan and with the 1st Cavalry in the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Transport America prior to retiring in 1995 and is a member of American legion Post 737.
