Corlls observe golden event during party

AUSTINTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Jay Corll, 6260 Kirk Road, were guests of honor during a get-together July 5 at the Italian-American Veterans Centre, Youngstown, for the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Hosts were the honorees' children and their spouses, David and Kathy Corll of Portage, Ind.; Dave and Gerry Williams and John and Nora Ranalli, all of Austintown; Ron and Caryn Corll of Cartersville, Ga.; Paul and Diana Corll of Shippensburg, Pa.; and Michael and Sue Corll of Canal Fulton. The family includes 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The former Alice Hopes and Mr. Corll exchanged marriage vows July 5, 1952, at South United Presbyterian Church, Youngstown.

Retiring in 1991 from East Ohio Gas Co., Mr. Corll continues to work as a part-time farmer. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mrs. Corll is a homemaker.

The couple are members of Smith Corners United Methodist Church.
