The Cyclones manufactured a run to win Sunday's 11-inning game in Brooklyn.

VINDICATOR STAFF REPORT

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- You might say Corey Ragsdale stole this one for the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 11th inning against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, the Cyclones shortstop worked a one-out walk, then stole second and third -- his sixth and seventh stolen bases of the season.

Abraham Ayala then hit a deep fly ball to center for the sacrifice fly to give the Cyclones a 7-6 come-from-behind victory in New York-Penn League action Sunday night at KeySpan Park.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Mahoning Valley (7-6).

Brooklyn (8-5) won its second extra-inning game of the season and the fourth in its final at bat.

Scrappers' leading hitters

Bill Peavey went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Mahoning Valley, which held leads of 2-0, 3-1 and 6-4. Brian Wright had a single and a triple and scored two runs.

The Scrappers fell one game behind Pinckney Division leaders Auburn and Jamestown, which are both 8-5.

Robert Paulk (1-0) earned the victory for Brooklyn while Todd Pennington (1-1) took the loss.

The loss wasted a solid outing from Scrappers starter Blake Allen, who gave up one run on three hits in six innings, striking out five and walking none.

Kevin Martin relieved Allen in the seventh and gave up five runs (all earned) on five hits in two innings.

Matt Knox had two hits and an RBI in the loss. Shaun Larkin and Jonathan Van Every, the Scrappers' 1-2 hitters, went a combined 0-for-10.

Blake Whealy had a two-run home run for the Cyclones to tie the game at 6 in the eighth inning. Whealy had two hits and also scored two runs. Ender Chavez and Jonathan Slack each added two hits for Brooklyn.

Brett Harper and Ragsdale each scored two runs for the Cyclones.

The two teams will play tonight at 7 at KeySpan Park.
