HOWLAND -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place June 1 as Melissa Bobovecz, 2244 Shetland Lane, Poland, and James Hivner, 407 E. Liberty St., Hubbard, were united in marriage during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony at Howland Community Church.
The Rev. Jerry Kruse officiated at the ceremony, and the couple accepted congratulations during a reception at the Avalon Inn and Resort before leaving on a wedding trip to the Bahamas.
The bride is a daughter of Debbie Venrose of the Shetland Lane address and Bill Bobovecz, 380 Ashbury Way, Naples, Fla. She attended Youngstown State University and is a dental assistant with Dr. Brian DeMatteo of Canfield.
Parents of the groom are Cathy and Larry Hivner of the Liberty Street address. He is a graduate of New Castle School of Trades and a machinist with PSK Steel Corp., Liberty.
The white A-line gown worn by the bride featured an off-the-shoulder neckline.
Amanda Bobovecz, the bride's sister and honor attendant, wore pink. Gowned in lavender were the bridesmaids, Tiffany Ungaro, Lindsay Kindler, Jami White, Sara McCurdy, Chrissy Nichols, Lauren Neff and the bride's cousin, Kellie Walker.
Best man was the groom's brother, Doug Hivner, and groomsmen were his cousin, Mike Hivner; his uncle, Randy Brannan; Steve Sample; Ronnie Sample; Eric Neri; Tony Neri; and Rusty Langley. Ring bearer was the bride's brother, Matthew Bobovecz.
