Girard woman suspects she was drugged
AUSTINTOWN -- A Girard woman told police she may have been drugged at a Youngstown bar.
The 22-year-old woman told police she woke up at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in her vehicle in the parking lot of Sky Bank, 6010 Mahoning Ave., but has no idea how she got there.
According to reports, the woman was fully clothed and nothing appeared to be missing from her vehicle, but there were red marks and bruises on her neck and three possible burn marks along her spine.
The woman said she met friends about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Trax Lounge on New Road in Austintown, and from there she followed them to Avalon Gardens on Belmont Avenue in Youngstown about 6:30 p.m.
According to police reports, all the woman remembered of the evening was eating pizza, sitting at the bar, drinking a draft beer and talking with a man seated a few stools down.
She said she left the bar to roll up her car windows and to go to the restroom, and when she returned she continued drinking the same beer and talking with the same man.
The next thing she remembers was waking up in the driver's seat of her car with the keys in the ignition, feeling groggy and suffering from a headache, she said. She drove herself to St. Joseph Health Center in Warren for an evaluation.
Police are still investigating the matter.
