Columbiana County Commissioners managed to joke recently, even if the topic was the not-so-funny fiscal crisis being faced by the county.
Commissioners have been slapped with two lawsuits in recent weeks, both by county departments claiming they're under-funded.
Forced to hire attorneys to represent them, the commissioners had an item on their meeting agenda that intended to convey that the panel planned to meet in executive session to discuss the pending litigation.
A clerical error on the agenda, however, stated that commissioners were to meet with the attorneys for "excess pending litigation."
The slip prompted Commissioner Sean Logan to crack that, from his vantage point, it certainly does seem like excess litigation.
