FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

FRIDAY

Guilford Lake Ruritans, state Route 172 at Hanna Drive, will hold a fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals will include potato, salad, ice cream and beverage. The cost is $7, and carryouts will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be taking orders for potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday only. Patrons are asked to provide containers.

XFish dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church Hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod, Spanish rice or haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries, coleslaw, bread, butter, coffee and tea. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeout orders. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi, hot pirogi lunches and plain, cinnamon and powdered sugar doughnuts. Orders will be taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528 and should be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $3.50 for a dozen pirogi.

Hubbard VFW 3767 Auxiliary, 710 W. Liberty St., will hold a fish fry from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for large dinners, baked or fried, and $4.25 for small dinners. The menu will also feature a choice of french fries, haluski or macaroni and cheese. Carryouts will be available. For information call (330) 534-9775.

National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will be serving a fish buffet from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and selling pirogi. The cost for the buffet will be $8 for adults and $5 for children. Potato and cheese pirogi may be ordered ahead as a takeout; the cost is $4 a dozen.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will sell regular, potato and spinach pizza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school annex, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles. Advance orders can be called to (330) 652-2811 beginning today. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Orders will be taken for potato pirogi at St. Anne Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 799-0084. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pirogi are $3.75 per dozen. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Patrons may provide their own containers and are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for pizza at (330) 746-9577 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Orders must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.

Orders for potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be taken by St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers.

St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will be taking orders for Italian-style red and white pizza at (330) 788-0025 between 8 and noon only. Pickup will be until 1 p.m.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, Route 170, Main Street, New Middletown, will be taking orders for potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi at (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Frozen pirogi will be available.

XSt. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will be taking orders for potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, based on availability, at (330) 747-3024. The cost is $3.50 a dozen. On Friday lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.

Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. N.W., Warren, will serve an all-you-can-eat fish dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children. Meals will be delivered to residents of Buckeye and Tod apartments who call the church at (330) 393-3859 before 3 p.m.

SATURDAY

XLordstown Apple Cider Festival Committee will serve turkey dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lordstown Administration Center, 1455 Salt Springs Road S.W.. The menu will feature dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, cranberry sauce, bread, beverage and dessert. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Men's Group of St. John Lutheran Church, 5437 Mahoning Ave., Champion, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Meals will feature spaghetti, meatball, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Dinners are $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and free to those under 5.

All-you-can-eat spaghetti dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at Salineville Masonic Lodge, state Route 644. Carryouts will be available. Meals are $5 for adults, $4.50 for seniors, $3 for children 3-12 and free for those under 3.

Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will hold a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage and pie. Takeouts will be available. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children.

SUNDAY

St. Mary Byzantine Church, 7782 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 4 p.m. following the 10:30 a.m. liturgy. Meals will feature pasta and homemade meatballs, salad, pastries, and coffee or tea. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

XSt. Mary Church, 3504 state Route, Mineral Ridge, will hold a pancake, french toast and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $4.75 for adults, $3 for children 5-12 and free for those under 5. For takeouts call (330) 652-8319.

Stuffed cabbage dinners will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at St. Matthias School, Father Snock Center, 2800 Shady Run Road, Youngstown. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 5-11. Meals will include mashed potatoes, corn, bread, cake, and coffee or tea. Pop will be extra. Containers will be provided for takeouts.

St. Patrick Church, will hold a benefit spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the church hall, 1410 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. The cost is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryouts will be available, and containers will be provided for 50 cents a dinner. For more information call (330) 743-1109.

Post and auxiliary members of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage, ham, hash browns, pancakes, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $3.50 for adults and $1.75 for children under 12.

TUESDAY

Hubbard VFW 3767 Auxiliary, 710 W. Liberty St., will serve homemade soup, chili, sandwiches and side dishes from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For information call (330) 534-9775.

TAKING ORDERS

XQueen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scovill Drive, Vienna, is taking orders for homemade pasta fagioli and wedding soup. Orders for pasta fagioli must be made by Feb. 11, and pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 13; cost is $4 per quart. Wedding soup is $5 per quart, and orders must be made by Feb. 19. Pickup will be after the 5 p.m. Mass Feb. 23 or the 8 and 10 a.m. Masses Feb. 24. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 856-2597 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Containers are microwavable and freezer-safe. No walk-in orders will be accepted.

UPCOMING

Boar's Head Ladies of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 6 at the church. No reservations required. The menu will feature homemade baked chicken, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6. For takeout orders, call (330) 743-3175; containers will be provided.

Chicken pie suppers will be available at First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. For reservations call (724) 983-0200. Tickets will be sold at the door.

A fish buffet dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at St. James Church, state Route 422, New Bedford, Pa. Meals include pirogi, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, french fries, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children. Takeouts will be available.

Warren Harley Owner's Group will sell bowls of chili from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at Warren Harley Davidson, 2102 Elm Road, Cortland. The cost is $1 a bowl and includes bread and crackers. Proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesdays. Please submit information for takeout and sit-down dinners to the Society Department before 5 p.m. Monday.
