Free flu shots
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Mobile Outreach Team from the Veterans Affairs Butler, Pa., Medical Center will offer free flu shots and medical evaluations for veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at American Legion Post 261. No appointment is necessary. Veterans are asked to bring their discharge papers.

Williams (The Rayen School, Youngstown, '99), son of Leatha Williams-Mitchell, 150 Greeley Lane, Youngstown; Reserve Airman Jonathan E. Tascoe (Lakeview High School, Cortland, '00), son of Maryellen Tascoe, 2858 Timberline Drive, Cortland; Airman Cochise G. Kitchen (Mesa High School, Mesa, Ariz., '01), son of Venice Kitchen, 439 Breaden St., Youngstown, and Harrison Kitchen, 2819 E. Capri Circle, Mesa; Airman Courtney C. U Army: Pvt. Jefferson J. Ogg (Crestview High School, Columbiana, '93), son of Charlotte and Ronald Ogg, 2001 Needle Road, East Palestine.
Army Pvt. Dustin E. Harvey graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Va. Harvey is a son of Michele Harvey, 212 Rosemont Ave., and Paul A. Harvey of 72 S. Anderson, both of Austintown. He is a 2001 graduate of Fitch High School.
Army Reserve Pfc. Samuel D. Booher graduated from the heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson, S.C. Booher is a son of Jeane M. Schneider, 48092 Bell School Road, and Anthony L. Booher, 617 Minervia St., both of East Liverpool. He is a 2001 graduate of Beaver High School, Lisbon.
Cook gains rank
Airman 1st Class Justin R. Cook was promoted to his present rank while serving as an administrative apprentice assigned to the 27th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. He is a son of Barbara J. and Donald R. Cook, 303 State St., Grove City, Pa., and is a 2000 graduate of Grove City High School.
Lewis moves up
YOUNGSTOWN -- Sergeant 1st Class Timothy E. Lewis, of Youngstown, was promoted to platoon sergeant while serving with the Ohio National Guard, Co. C, 216th Engineer Battalion. Lewis is a corrections officer with the Ohio Department of Corrections in Youngstown.
Army Specialist Steven C. Venezie was promoted to his present rank while serving as an intelligence analyst with the 201st Military Intelligence Battalion, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is the son of Raymond A. Venezie, 609 Todd Ave., Ellwood City, Pa., and Angela M. Lee, 2804 S. Ninth St., Arlington, Va., and graduated in 1997 from Lincoln High School, Ellwood City.
White is decorated
Army Pfc. Brian I. White, decorated with the Army Achievement Medal, is a bridge crew member assigned to the 50th Engineer Co., Camp LaGuardia, Uijong-Bu, South Korea. He is a son of Anna J., and stepson of Jerry Young, 548 Glacierview Drive, Youngstown, and is a 2000 graduate of Chaney High School.
Army Staff Sgt. Dale L. Ellsworth, decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, is a squad leader with the 9th Infantry at Camp Hovey, Korea. Ellsworth is a son of Forrest L. and Wanda L. Ellsworth, 3587 Knox School Road, Homeworth, Ohio, and graduated in 1984 from West Branch High School, Beloit.
